Cheney advanced to the second round of the 2A boys state soccer tournament with Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over Othello.
The Blackhawks took a first half lead on a CJ Skillingstad goal, set up by an assist from Micah Weller. Othello tied it in the final minutes of the second half to force overtime. Cheney cashed in on a turnover in OT, with Skillingstad setting up Forester Seipp for the game winner.
Cheney will face Toppenish Saturday in the second round. The Wildcats topped Pullman 2-0 Wednesday.
In the 1A bracket Chelan topped Bellevue Christian 5-1, setting up a second round matchup against Highland.
