In an unprecedented poll of over 15,000 votes and 635 Facebook recommendations, St. Maries' Jordan Stapleton was chosen for making the best play of the 2011 high school football season.
Stapleton earned 5,376 to capture 36-percent of 15,002 total votes for his efforts in week eight's game against Priest River. It is safe to say the incredible catch the Lumberjack receiver made was worthy of being called the HS GameTime Play of the Year.
The junior pulled a would-be interception away from a Spartan defender right before it hit the ground. The catch led to a Lumberjacks touchdown, which in turn, led to a 25-6 St. Maries victory.
By outlasting nine other Plays of the Week, Stapleton earns St. Maries High School $222 courtesy of Inland Empire Toyota Dealers.
