SPOKANE -- Brett Rypien is no stranger to record-breaking performances. On Thursday night the Shadle Park quarterback topped them all.

Rypien threw for 613 yards in the Highlanders' 63-42 win over previously unbeaten Mt. Spokane. His outing topped his previous mark of 577 yards set in 2012.

The Shadle Park junior became the first 11-man quarterback in Washington prep football history to eclipse 600 yards in a single game.

Shadle is now 4-1, as are the Wildcats following the loss.

In the early game at Albi Central Valley improved to 3-2 with a 28-0 win over Lewis & Clark.
