SPANGLE -- Liberty's Gus Simmons wins the HS GameTime Play of the Week.
It was a landslide victory (possibly the largest blowout in the history of the award) with nearly 90% of voters selecting Simmons' interception return for a touchdown as the week's best.
Late in the first half against Tekoa-Oakesdale/Rosalia, Simmons intercepted a pass and returned it 21 yards for the eventual game-winning score against the Nighthawks. The Lancers won, 7-6.
Liberty (1-0) plays at home against Springdale (0-2) on Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.
