SPOKANE -- The Lewis & Clark boy's and girl's basketball teams did their part to win the Rubber Chicken on Thursday night at Spokane Arena, but Ferris still took home the coveted trophy.
The Lewis & Clark girls easily handled the Saxons 76-51 in the early game. The Tigers led 22-5 at the end of the first quarter. Daisy Burke paced LC with 12 points.
The Ferris boys led by as many as eight points in the first half of the late game, but Lewis & Clark rallied late for a 77-74 win. Sage Poland scored 24 points for the Tigers, while Levi Taylor registered 23 for LC.
The Tigers' excitement was squashed at the end of the night when Ferris was awarded the Rubber Chicken. It's the first time the Saxons won the top prize in three years.
