COEUR D'ALENE -- Coeur d'Alene High School football players Chad Chalich and Deon Watson officially signed with the University of Idaho on National Letter of Intent Signing Day on Wednesday.
The two have quite a history together: They've been best friends since first grade, they started playing football together in fourth grade, won two state championships together in high school, and now they'll play together in college.
Chalich was the 5A Player of the Year in Idaho after guiding Coeur d'Alene to its second straight state crown. He threw for 3,636 yards and 42 touchdowns last season, while throwing just two interceptions.
Watson played on both sides of the ball at Coeur d'Alene, but he starred as a wide receiver. Idaho recruited him as an athlete, which means they're not really sure where he'll play once he gets there. Watson says they're giving him a choice and he'd like to play on offense.
