SPOKANE -- A nine game win streak and two West Coast Conference road wins helped the Gonzaga women’s basketball team crack the Associated Press Top 25 for the first time this season.

The Bulldogs checked in at No. 23 on Monday, while climbing to No. 22 in the ESPN/USA Today Poll on Tuesday. The Zags were No. 24 in those rankings last week.

The Bulldogs (14-2, 3-0 WCC) beat Pepperdine 79-50 last Thursday in Malibu and then earned an 80-54 victory at Loyola Marymount on Saturday.

Gonzaga plays its first home West Coast Conference games of the season this week by hosting the University of San Francisco (3-14, 1-3) Thursday and Saint Mary’s College (12-5, 3-1 WCC) Saturday.
