SPOKANE -- The Gonzaga men's basketball team faces BYU in the first ever conference clash between the two schools on Thursday.

Tip-off between the Bulldogs and Cougars is scheduled for 8pm in Provo. You can watch the game live on ESPN2.

Gonzaga (17-3; 7-1) currently two games out of first place in the West Coast Conference, while BYU (18-6; 6-3) is 3.5 games behind St. Mary's in the standings.

The Cougars, who joined the WCC this season, ended the Zags season last year with an 89-67 win in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. This is the first matchup since that clash. BYU and Gonzaga also play in Spokane on February 23rd.

We'll have coverage of this Thursday's showdown on KREM 2 News and KREM.com.

Injury Update: Gonzaga's Ryan Spangler will not be available for Thursday's game against the Cougars. Head coach Mark Few says the broken little finger on Spangler's left hand is healing well, but he won't be reevaluated again until next week. Spangler was originally expected to miss 2-3 weeks (he had surgery two weeks ago).
