SPOKANE -- The Gonzaga women’s basketball team moved up to No. 19 in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 poll, while moving up to No. 18 in the ESPN/USA Today Poll.
It's the highest the Bulldogs have been in the AP poll since they closed out the 2009-10 campaign ranked No. 15. Gonzaga received 51 more votes than last week when it was No. 20. The Zags were No. 19 in the coaches' poll last week.
The Zags moved to 21-3 on the year and 10-1 in the West Coast Conference with wins over Portland and San Diego last week. It is the sixth-straight season Gonzaga has secured a 20-win campaign.
The Bulldogs hit the road for their final WCC regular season road trip this week. Gonzaga faces new league member BYU Thursday for the first time this season. BYU, who dropped out of the AP poll this week, is second in the league at 9-2. The Zags then play at the University of San Francisco on Saturday.
