SPOKANE -- Canadian point guard Kevin Pangos committed to the Gonzaga men's basketball team on Tuesday night, according to Nolan Shulman of FlagrantFouls.com.
Pangos was reportedly down to three options a few weeks ago: Gonzaga, Virginia, and Notre Dame. In the end, Pangos selected the Bulldogs.
"I just felt like t was a good fit and taking the comfort of knowing where I am going heading into my senior year will make it that much easier," Pangos told FlagrantFouls.com.
According to the recruiting website, Pangos is the third best overall prospect and the second best point guard in Canada. One Canadian college basketball coach even called Pangos "the best point guard we've seen in Canada since Steve Nash."
Pangos told Shulman that he selected Gonzaga because it has "a great history of point guards, an opportunity to play, and an opportunity of great academics."
Pangos will join Gary Bell, Jr. (Kentridge High School), Kyle Dranginis (Nampa, Idaho), Ryan Spangler (Bridge Creek, Oklahoma), and Chris Sarbaugh (Gonzaga Prep High School) for the 2011-12 season.
