SPOKANE -- Three Rivers Community College (Mo.) guard Marquise Carter verbally committed to play basketball at Gonzaga on Thursday.

Carter averaged 17.2 points, 5.5 assist, and 4.1 rebounds per game last season as a sophomore. He also proved to be a little careless at times as well, turning the ball over 3.5 times per contest.

According to JucoJunction.com, Carter was also interested in Wichita State and Oklahoma. His brother, Nate Carter, played for the Sooners from 2005-2007.

In an article with OUHoops.com, Carter said that Spokane is a "really nice town" and mentioned that he also really enjoyed the Gonzaga players during his visit.

Carter is the first member of Gonzaga's incoming class for the 2010 season.
