Shon Roe delivered a RBI single in the top of the 9th to deliver a 5-4 win for Loyola Marymount in their series opener at Gonzaga.
The Bulldogs rushed out to a 3-0 lead following a RBI double from Steven Halcomb that brought in Mitchell Gunsolus. But the Lions made a steady comeback, scoring in the fourth, fifth, and sixth to even the game at 3-3.
Gonzaga quickly surged back ahead, when Halcomb came home on a Royce Bolinger RBI single in the bottom half of the sixth.
LMU tied it back up with Colton Plaia's solo home run in the eight. The Lions' plated the game winner in the ninth, when Roe's grounder up the middle bounced off second base, allowing Zac Fujimoto to come home.
The West Coast Conference rivals continue their series Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
