SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University center Kelly Olynyk has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Olynyk went 19-for-30 from the field for 63.3 percent while averaging 21.5 ppg and 8.0 rpg as Gonzaga won at Saint Mary's and at San Francisco to improve to 12-0 in the WCC.
The native of Kamloops, British Columbia, scored 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds at Saint Mary's College, and scored 26 points and grabbed 9 rebounds as Gonzaga snapped a 3-game losing streak at USF. He was 13-17 from the field for 76.5 percent against the Dons.
Olynyk was also honored Jan. 7 as the Player of the Week and also earned December and January Player of the Month accolades from the WCC.
Gonzaga will be back in action Wednesday hosting Santa Clara University at 8 p.m. and Saturday when the University of San Diego comes to town for a 4 p.m. contest.
