TUCSON, Ariz. - The awards keep rolling in for Gonzaga University sophomore Marco Gonzales, who Thursday was named to the Louisville Slugger NCAA Division I All-America third team for the second straight season as selected by Collegiate Baseball.
Gonzales, a sophomore from Fort Collins, Colo., was selected as a utility player this year after being selected as a pitcher last season. The versatile Gonzales plays first base and pitches for the Bulldogs.

He fanned 92 batters in 92 2/3 innings while walking just 23, and allowed just 12 extra-base hits including three home runs. Opponents had a .201 batting average against him.
At the plate he hit .325 with 29 RBI, 10 doubles and a pair of home runs. He had a fielding percentage of .971 with eight errors in 279 chances.
Earlier this week he was named the West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year and was named to the All-WCC First Team as a pitcher.
