SPOKANE -- There aren't many college basketball fans around the world that don't know the name Kevin Pangos now.
The Gonzaga freshman made a massive splash on the scene by scoring 33 points last night in a nationally televised game on ESPN against rival Washington State.
Pangos drilled nine three-pointers to tie a school record set by Dan Dickau during the 2001-02 season. His performance helped guide Gonzaga to an 89-81 win against the Cougars.
While Pangos was already known in his native country Canada, he's now known around the globe. The 18-year-old was trending worldwide on Twitter during Monday night's game. That means he was one of the most talked about subjects around the globe on the social media site at the time.
Pangos returns home to Canada this weekend when the Zags travel to Vancouver, British Columbia to face Hawaii on Saturday.
