SPOKANE -- Three more games were added to the Gonzaga University men’s basketball schedule Friday, including the Ronald McDonald House Charities Classic Nov. 26 against Western Michigan University in the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.

Also added to the slate were games at the University of Illinois December 3rd and at Xavier December 31st.

The Bulldogs-Broncos matchup will be the first on the hardwood. WMU lost in the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament this past season to finish 21-13 overall for their eighth 20-win season in program history. The Broncos won the Mid-American Conference West title with an 11-5 record. Head coach Steve Hawkins, in his 10th year at the school, recently had his contract extended through the 2016 season.

Gonzaga and Illinois will be meeting for the third time in their current four-game series. The Bulldogs took a thrilling 85-83 win over the Fighting Illini in the first game of the current series at the United Center in Chicago Jan. 2, 2010, as Elias Harris scored with 12 seconds remaining then grabbed the rebound at the other end following an Illinois miss. Illinois came back to down the Bulldogs in last year’s Battle in Seattle 73-61 to take a 3-1 lead in the overall series that dates back to the 2002 season.

The Bulldogs and Xavier will be meeting for the fourth time dating back to 1961, the Bulldogs taking a 64-54 victory over the Musketeers last season in the McCarthey Athletic Center. Xavier finished 24-8 overall after a NCAA Tournament Second Round setback. Xavier went 15-1 in winning the Atlantic-10 regular-season title.

Gonzaga announced earlier it will play Washington State University, the University of Notre Dame, Michigan State University and Butler University in the McCarthey Athletic Center this season, with the Bulldogs battling the University of Arizona in the Battle in Seattle.

The remainder of the schedule will be announced when it is finalized.
