MIAMI -- Former Gonzaga star Ronny Turiaf signed with the Miami Heat on Wednesday.
Turiaf and the Heat completed a deal on Wednesday. He will likely practice with his team for the first time on Thursday and could debut as early as Friday when Miami plays at Detroit.
Another former Bulldog Austin Daye expressed his excitement for Turiaf on Twitter.
"Congrats to my boy [Ronny Turiaf] for signing with the MIA heat today great fit for him," Daye tweeted.
Turiaf started the year with the Washington Wizards, but he missed most of the season with a broken hand. Turiaf was then dealt to Denver at the trade deadline, but the Nuggets bought out his contract and placed him on waivers.
Before his injury, Turiaf averaged 1.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game in four contests with Washington.
