SEATTLE -- The Gonzaga baseball team swept the season series against Washington with a 8-5 win against the Huskies on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs trailed 5-3 in the third, but they rallied for two runs in the sixth inning and five more in the seventh. Alex Stanford and Royce Bollinger paced the Zags with three hits apiece, while Brock Slavin and Maxx Garrett both drove in a pair of runs.
Zach Abbruzza was stellar in relief for Gonzaga. He pitched four scoreless innings, allowing just one hit. That was more than enough to earn Abbruzza his first win of the season.
Gonzaga now returns home for a three-game series against Santa Clara. Game one is set for Friday at 6pm.
