SPOKANE -- The learning curve has been steeper this preseason for the Zags compared to last year. Now, with over a month of practice behind them, the Bulldogs are ready to find out exactly what this team is all about.

Mark Few's guys tip off the new season Saturday against Bryant. With more new faces expected to contribute and the change to a more uptempo style of play there has been more to get accustomed to.

Kevin Pangos was happy with their 103-point output in their exhibition win over Simon Fraser. The junior guard thinks this team can be really good if they keep making strides. GU's players say rebounding has been their biggest area of progress since practice started in late September.

Few also said that that has been an area of growth, and that it could be a challenge for his team this season. But the bottom line is, they need to keep getting better.

"There's a lot of stuff we still got to get comfortable with, where the coaches feel like the players are on the same page," Few said. "We really got to use this week to keep working on getting better."

Gonzaga opens the season with four straight home games beginning with Bryant Saturday at 4:00 p.m., followed by Colorado St. Monday at 6:00 p.m.
