SPOKANE -- The Whitworth football team is much different this year compared to last season. Of the 93 players on the roster, more than half are new faces.
To help the youngsters get quickly caught up, the Pirates tried something new this year. They held practices for the new players on Saturday and Sunday, and then welcomed the veterans on Monday.
With the first full team practice now in the books, camp is in full swing for the Bucs. They say the most important part is coming together as a squad before the season opener.
Whitworth is looking to build on a five win season last year. They start the year on the road against Chapman on September 3rd.
