TULSA -- The Arena Football League announced on Tuesday that Spokane Shock wide receiver Raul Vijil and linebacker Kevin McCullough were honored with awards this week.
Following his performance in Spokane’s 67-57 victory over top-ranked Jacksonville, Vijil was selected as the Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week. Vijil recorded 11 receptions for 130 yards and scored an AFL season-high seven touchdowns.
McCullough was honored with the Cutter’s Catch of the Week for his first quarter interception. With the Sharks’ ahead 14-7, McCullough leaped and made an acrobatic one-handed interception. After regaining his balance, he eluded one defender, hurdled another and dove across the goal line for a touchdown.
Spokane has a bye this week. They return to action on June 12th at Orlando.
