SPOKANE, Wash.--KREM 2 News has an on-going campaign to have Seahawks Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson come to Wilson Elementary School in Spokane. Please tweet a message to @DangeRussWilson asking him to visit, be sure to include “Wilson2Wilson” in your message.
Wilson Elementary on Spokane’s South Hill was not giving up hope in February to get a visit from Seahawks Super Bowl Quarterback Russell Wilson.
The school has developed a character campaign based on Russell Wilson. The students would like to meet the man they call their hero.
Wilson and his teammates have some off-time before NFL training camp begins, but some are keeping busy.
Wide Receiver Doug Baldwin gave a senior battling cancer at Washington High School a super-bowl sized surprise when he paid a visit to a special graduation ceremony organized by the boy’s classmates.
Wilson had been busy himself. His twitter account verified he was in New York and appearing on the Charlie Rose Show.
Requests had been made for Wilson to visit Spokane’s Wilson Elementary School. The Seahawks organization said Wilson may be able to Skype with students sometime in the Spring.
“Would love it. That would be a big deal, whether he visits, which would love. The fact that he would reach out to us would mean something really special to our students,” said Wilson Elementary Principal Tony Ressa.
