PULLMAN - It's the storyline that won't seem to go away - now matter how badly Mike Leach might want it to. After Saturday's loss to Cal, there will be another shuffle under center for Washington State.
Leach said in his weekly press conference Monday that Jeff Tuel will get the first team reps as the Cougars have an extra week to prepare for a visit to Stanford. The decision comes a week after the WSU head coach said they were going to invest in Ferris grad Connor Halliday.
In Saturday's 31-17 loss to Cal, Halliday threw two 1st quarter interceptions before being replaced by Tuel. The senior signal caller threw for 320 yards and two touchdowns in relief duty.
Leach was complimentary of Tuel's performance after the game, and again Monday. The coach says they need to settle in on one quarterback, and that he hopes one will soon take the reins rather than continuing to "leap frog" one another week to week.
The Cougars visit Stanford October 27th at 3:15 p.m.
