MOSCOW -- Second year Idaho head coach Paul Petrino said his football team got a lot better Wednesday, thanks to the addition of 17 players to the Vandal program.

Among the priorities were team speed, something Petrino said they improved on with the Class of 2014. There were also important additions to the offensive and defensive lines.

Of the 17 players that signed letters of intent, three came from the Inland Northwest.

Freeman offensive lineman, and former WSU commit, Jordan Rose will head to Moscow. Joining him are Coeur d'Alene quarterback Gunnar Amos and Pullman wide receiver David Ungerer.

Petrino called Amos a great player, competitor and winner. The coach compared Ungerer to Wes Welker. Ungerer caught passes in 2013 from Petrino's son, Mason.

The Pullman and CDA products have one similarity that the coach really likes.

"Those are both coaches kids. They just know the game better. They understand it, they know how to win, they know how to work."
