Idaho defensive end Aaron Lavarias earned the Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors after his performance in Saturday's victory over Hawai`i.
The junior had four solo tackles, two of which were quarterback sacks, in the 35-23 victory. He also forced the fourth quarter fumble that led to DeMaundray Woolridge's one-yard touchdown to give Idaho a 35-17 lead with 1:08 to play. Lavarias is the sixth Vandal to earn one of the weekly awards - the total is more than any year since 2000.
