INDIANAPOLIS -- Every year NFL Draft prospects descend on Indianapolis where they get analyzed, examined and picked apart mentally and physically. After a record breaking season, Bishop Sankey is once again hoping to turn heads.
The Gonzaga Prep grad set a UW record, rushing for 1,870 yards as a junior.
NFL Draft guru Mike Mayock labeled him the third best running back prospect in this year's draft. League evaluators projected him as a third rounder before Sankey made his decision. That could change dramatically based on his 40-yard dash time and his performance in various workouts.
Regardless of how his stay in Indy plays out, Sankey is confident in his potential at the next level.
"I just felt like it was time for me to take my chances at the next level," Sankey said Friday. "I feel like I'm fully capable of making an impact."
Sankey and the rest of the running backs will work out Sunday.
Washington State safety Deone Bucannon will interview Sunday, and take the field Tuesday.
