CHENEY -- College football is back - almost. For Eastern Washington 2013 begins with a familiar challenge. But one that has never resulted in a win.

Beau baldwin and company kick off the year Saturday in Corvallis against an Oregon St. team ranked 25th in the preseason polls, after a turnaround 9-4 season.

Eastern has been anxious to get back on the field since losing on their own field to Sam Houston State in the FCS Semfinals last December. This marks the fifth time in six seasons under Baldwin that the Eags have faced a Pac-12 opponent in the first two weeks of the season. Eastern has never beaten a Pac-12 opponent, with the last two losses coming at Washington and Washington St. by a comined seven points.

Baldwin says his advice for the Eags on Saturday will be to 'let 'er rip' when they get between the lines, and to stay together when they run into adversity. Given their Pac-12 tests and high stakes playoff games in recent years, the EWU coach doesn't expect his squad to back down once they take the field Saturday.

Kickoff in Corvallis is at 3:00 p.m. Eastern is 0-2 all-time against the Beavers, with the most recent loss coming in 2006.
