NEW YORK -- Eastern Washington running back Taiwan Jones is moving up the boards as the NFL Draft approaches on Thursday.
Jones is now ranked as the 9th best running back and the 99th top overall prospect available by NFLDraftScout.com.
That's higher than he was originally listed in January when he declared for the draft. Jones was listed as the 13th best running back and 125th best player back then.
Originally projected as a third round pick, one mock draft on the website has Jones as the 56th selection to the New Orleans Saints. That would make him a second round pick.
Jones has boosted his draft status with solid workouts since he healed from a broken foot that kept him out of the FCS national championship game.
The first round of the NFL Draft is Thursday in New York City. The second and third rounds are Friday, while the fourth-seventh rounds are Saturday.
