CHENEY -- Eastern Washington University is making a game in Seattle a tradition.

The Eagles play Central Washington University at Qwest Field on Saturday in the "Showdown on the Sound". It's the second consecutive year Eastern has played at the home of the Seattle Seahawks (they beat Portland State last year 47-10).

It will be a battle of ranked teams, but from different levels. Eastern Washington is 17th in the latest Football Championship Subdivision poll, while Central Washington is No. 12 in the NCAA Division II poll.

The two teams used to be rivals when they both played in the NAIA, but they hardly square off any more. The Wildcats actually won the last meeting against the Eagles 21-14 in 2006. EWU still leads the all-time series 33-30-4 though.

The 89-year-old rivalry will be renewed on Saturday in the Emerald City. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:05pm at Qwest Field.
