MOSCOW -- Paul Petrino expects the Vandals to take some lumps along the way in 2013. The first body blow came Saturday, when Idaho stumbled in their opener at North Texas.

Idaho is now hoping to iron out the issues that led to their 40-6 loss to the Mean Green. The Vandals did score on their opening drive on a Chad Chalich touchdown pass, but 11 penalties and three fumbles lost doomed them from that point on.

Offensive lineman Mike Marboe said they are quick fixes, heading into Saturday's visit to Wyoming - a team that beat them 40-37 in Moscow last year. Petrino attributed some of their woes to having 32 players in their first Division I game.

"We just gotta go out there and we gotta get better every week," Petrino said.

Idaho faces the Cowboys Saturday at 1:00 p.m. They will see former interim head coach Jason Gesser on the opposite sideline. Gesser is now the quarterbacks coach for Wyoming.
