RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Matt Hasselbeck had so much fun and learned so much from Brett Favre in Green Bay, he says he would have been content at the time to remain a backup to the icon instead of becoming a three-time Pro Bowl quarterback in Seattle.
Favre's protege calls his first three years in Green Bay a decade ago with Mike Holmgren as coach, Andy Reid as quarterbacks coach and Favre running the offense "Harvard Business School for a young quarterback."
On Sunday in Minnesota, Hasselbeck will face his mentor for the sixth time since he became Seattle's quarterback in 2001. He is 1-4 against Favre.
Hasselbeck says "I felt like I should have been paying (the Packers)" for all he received from Favre.
