Multiple reports say the Seahawks have a new pass rushing defensive end. According to ESPN, former Lions DE Cliff Avril agreed to a two year contract worth 15 million dollars. Avril is 6'3" and 260 pounds. He has collected nearly 40 sacks and 16 forced fumbles in his five seasons with Detroit.
The Seahawks address one of their off-season needs with the deal. Seattle gets another DE who can bring the pressure. He joins last year's 1st round pick Bruce Irvin and last season's starter Chris Clemons, who's recovering from an ACL surgery.
Avril will turn 27 in April. He reportedly turned down a 3-year, $30 million deal last year. Instead, he signed his 1-year franchise tender.
