SPOKANE, Wash.—The 12th Man Flag was hoisted up in the heart of Spokane Friday afternoon.
The 12th Man Flag normally hangs in Seattle before games but Friday night it hung in Spokane.
The city said they hung the flag not only because the Seahawks asked them to, but because a majority of this community is behind the team too.
Mayor David Condon unrolled the Seattle Seahawks’12th Man Flag along the south side of the Clock Tower in Riverfront Park. Earlier this week he proclaimed January 10, Seahawks Blue Friday and asked everyone to support the team.
Sports Town on Main said many people are showing their 12th Man pride and team gear if flying off the racks.
"I have several, I was just looking for more...Can’t get enough," said customer Jackie Aman.
City leaders said they plan to keep the 12th Man Flag up for as long as the Seahawks are in the playoffs.
The Seahawks play the New Orleans Saints in Seattle Saturday afternoon.
