INDIANAPOLIS - The Washington State University women's soccer team received an at-large bid to the 2009 NCAA Division I Championship on Monday.
The Cougars will face Villanova (11-5-5, 4-4-3 Big East) in the first round at 5pm on the University of Maryland campus in College Park, Md. T
his is the second-straight NCAA Championship appearance for WSU, a first for the program, and a first for any Cougar women's program since rowing went to consecutive NCAA Championships in 2003 and 2004.
WSU finished the regular season with a record of 13-5-2 overall and 5-2-2 in the Pacific-10 Conference.
The Cougars and Wildcats have never met in women's soccer. WSU is 5-0-1 all-time against current members of the Big East Conference.
