PULLMAN -- On Thursday, Washington State kicked off a string of 15 spring practices.

Third year head coach Mike Leach returns 16 starters, including quarterback Connor Halliday. WSU linebacker Darryl Monroe says the team's experience allows the group to play with more confidence.

The Cougars went 6-7 in 2013, ending with a loss to Colorado State in the New Mexico Bowl.

Washington State's spring culminates with their annual Crimson and Gray Game, which takes place April 26th at Joe Albi Stadium.
