Vandals to face state rival in BracketBusters game

MOSCOW – University of Idaho men’s basketball learned on Monday that it will play Idaho State University in its Ramada BracketBusters game at Pocatello, Idaho, on Saturday, Feb. 23.
Idaho and Idaho State, former Big Sky Conference rivals, have played 100 times in series history, with the Vandals leading the all-time tally, 58-42. The Bengals are 4-17 overall this season and 3-9 in the Big Sky Conference.
The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. (PT) tip-off.
Idaho head coach Don Verlin has played at Idaho State once in his head coaching career, a 61-59 loss at ISU on Dec. 29, 2008.
Idaho is 4-4 in BracketBusters play since its first such game in 2004. The Vandals have won three of their last four BracketBusters games, including last season’s 77-68 home win against Portland State. The team is 2-1 in BracketBusters play against teams from the Big Sky.
