PULLMAN -- Record-breaking former Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell is headed to Pullman, where he will reunite with former coach Mike Leach.

A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to KREM 2 that Harrell will join Washington State, but in a non-coaching capacity. Harrell will serve in offensive quality control, where he will be able to lend his knowledge to Leach and the coaches.

Harrell had a short stint in the NFL, including a backup role to Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. He recently interviewed for high school offensive coordinator jobs in his home state of Texas.

The Heisman trophy finalist guided the Red Raiders to an 11-2 season in 2008. He finished his Texas Tech career top-5 in NCAA history for completions, attempts, yards and touchdown.

Washington State University has not made any announcement of the hire.
