If the experts are right, Bishop Sankey is a week away from hearing his name called in the NFL Draft. Once he does, it will be the product of a record-breaking 2013 season, and a beneficial last few months.
The Gonzaga Prep grad is doing his best to enjoy the process, which has slowed down since Sunday. That is when team visits and workouts came to an end.
Sankey - who broke the Huskies' single-season rushing record as a junior in 2013 - says he has had contact with pretty much every team to some degree. All 32 NFL squads were represented at Washington's pro day.
While analysts have varying opinions on where the former Bullpup stands among this crop of running backs, Sankey says he is the best in the draft. He helped his cause with a strong combine and likes the position he has put himself in.
As far as when he will hear his name called, Sankey was told it will happen in the second round by various sources.
The 2014 NFL Draft starts May 8th with the first round, and lasts through May 10th.
