MOSCOW -- The Gonzaga women's basketball team was out to prove a point on Monday night, unfortunately the Idaho Vandals were on the other end of a lopsided game.

The Bulldogs, who lost to South Dakota State in their season opener, ruined Idaho's season opener at Memorial Gym with an 80-57 victory.

Heather Bowman (20), Katelan Redmon (15), Tiffanie Shives (14), and Vivian Frieson (12) all scored in double figures for Gonzaga.

The Vandals put up a fight in the first half, only trailing 32-22 at the break. GU then outscored Idaho 48-35 after the break.

Bianca Cheever and Shaena Kuehu led the Idaho with 15 points each. Yinka Olorunnife also scored 11 points for the Vandals.

Gonzaga is now 1-1 on the year. They return to action at home against USC on Thursday.

Idaho is 0-1 to start the season. They play Eastern Washington in Cheney on Thursday at 7pm.
