SPOKANE -- A single tweet hinted at some welcome news Wednesday morning for Gonzaga fans.
Gary Bell Jr. wrote "Guess Who's Bizackkkkk...!!!!", the first sure sign that the junior guard could be back in the lineup when the Bulldogs host San Diego Thursday night.
That wasn't a slight of hand by Bell. A Gonzaga spokesperson confirmed to KREM 2 Wednesday afternoon that Bell has been cleared to play by team doctors.
Gonzaga lost the starting guard to a broken hand against Santa Clara on December 28th. Two days later they announced that he would be sidelined for 4-to-6 weeks. Bell has missed six games in the three-and-a-half weeks since the injury.
Prior to being sidelined, Bell was Gonzaga's third leading scorer at 12.7 points per game.
