CHENEY -- Winning Big Sky titles and finishing the regular season near the top of the FCS rankings has become a familiar routine for Eastern Washington. As a result, so has preparing for high stakes December football games.

The latter returns on Saturday.

Eastern is back at work after getting part of last week off for Thanksgiving as a result of their first round bye. Saturday the Eags welcome 9-4 South Dakota State to start their seventh playoff campaign in the last 10 years.

Beau Baldwin says his guys know what it takes to make use of the bye week and come back ready to perform. The Eags aren't worried about losing momentum from their 8-0 Big Sky run, instead enjoying the opportunity to regroup mentally and physically.

Eastern also has a number of high stakes games behind them, which gives them reason for confidence heading into their postseason opener.

The Eags and Jackrabbits meet up Saturday at 1:05 p.m. on Roos Field.
