SPOKANE, Wash. -- Many families who attended Bloomsday on Sunday are outraged by some offensive signs they saw along the race route.

A small group who are against abortion held graphic signs of aborted fetuses  at Sunday’s race and upset many families.

Heather Crabb is a mom and ran Bloomsday for the first time yesterday. Now, she’s saying it might be her last time participating after she saw the signs protestors were holding.

“The biggest on had a white background. It was a fetus probably 6 to 7 months, obvious fingers, hair, pulled into pieces and blood all over the background, “ said Crabb.

Bloomsday organizers got multiple complaints. They apologized on their facebook page with this statement

“We apologize about the group picketing on the course. this is something we are aware of. The group/individual is not affiliated with bloomsday in any way whatsoever. We are very disappointed this happened at such a family centered event. Please know we are taking proactive measures to ensure it does not happen again. On behalf of bloomsday, we sincerely apologize.”

KREM 2 contacted 3 different anit-abortion groups rumored to be responsible for the protests including the Olympia based group called “Show the Truth.” “Show the Truth” said  they focus on college campuses and wouldn’t protest at Bloomsday. The other two didn't claim responsiblity.
