USC basketball players plead not guilty for Spokane fight

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Two University of Southern California basketball players accused of starting a huge fight in downtown Spokane earlier this year pleaded guilty to charges in the case.

Dewayne Dedmon and James Blasczyk pleaded not guilty to second-degree assault charges in September. A judge set their trials to being in early 2014.

Witnesses said the two instigated a fight back in March. Four people were hurt according to court records. Dispatchers took several reports about the fight on March 10.

In March. Interim Head Coach Bob Cantu said Dedmon and Blasczyk will remain off the team indefinitely for violating a team rule.
