CHENEY -- Lewiston's Tisha Phillips isn't going far to play college basketball.

Tisha Phillips, a native of Lapwai, Idaho, signed a National Letter of Intent on Friday to play basketball at Eastern Washington University.

Phillips, a 5'10 guard, averaged 15 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.1 steals and 2.2 assists throughout her senior year, while also setting state tournament records for free throws made in a game (18) and in the tournament (34). She hit 34-of-36 total free throws in the playoffs for a remarkable 94 percent.

Phillips was recently named the 2012 Idaho Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year - the first-ever recipient from Lewiston High School.

Phillips transferred to Lewiston High School after two years at Lapwai High School, where she helped bring home yet another state title.
