Legendary University of Idaho broadcaster Bob Curtis passed away Thursday at the age of 87.
Curtis served as the school’s play-by-play announcer for football and basketball from 1958-2004. Curtis called 540 consecutive football games before his retirement.
U of I President Duane Nellis said in a statement on his Facebook page, “My heart goes out to the family and friends of legendary University of Idaho broadcaster, Bob Curtis. Bob passed away today at the age of 87. Bob was a dedicated Vandal fan who called more than 500 consecutive Vandal football games and hundreds of basketball games. Bob will be missed.”
