CHENEY -- Collin Chiverton has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Eastern Washington University next season.

Chiverton, a 6'6" forward from City College of San Francisco, averaged 19 points, five rebounds and 2.5 assists per game last year.

“He is an extremely athletic player and has a great dribble-drive game," said EWU head coach Jim Hayford. "He has extreme range in his outside shooting ability, and is a very, very strong offensive player.”

Chiverton is the first player signed by Hayford. He just took over at Eastern Washington after the school did not renew the contract of Kirk Earlywine.

“All you have to do is get online and look at some of the highlights of Collin and you’ll see how athletic he is,” Hayford said. “Where he helps us most is providing size on the perimeter. He has great scoring ability, especially scoring in bursts."
