PULLMAN - It's a storyline that doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon. Whether it be due to injury or performance, the Cougs depth chart might as well have a question mark next to 'QB'.
That of course is the case again this week, as Mike Leach's squad prepares for its Pac-12 opener against Colorado.
Jeff Tuel - who started the first two games - missed the UNLV game with a knee injury he suffered against Eastern Washington. On Wednesday he jogged onto the practice field and has been more involved throughout the week. But Connor Halliday got the first snaps with the starters Wednesday, and the majority of the reps overall.
Leach said Tuel has looked good this week, and was complimentary of both signal callers.
Halliday certainly helped his cause with his play last Friday at UNLV - throwing for 378 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions - and continues to thrive in the competition.
Leach isn't one to tip his hand, so don't expect to find out who this week's starter is until he's in the huddle at Martin Stadium Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against Colorado.
