PEORIA, Ariz. -- The Seattle Mariners announced on Tuesday that they signed pitcher Wes Littleton to a minor league contract. Littleton will report to minor league spring training on March 7.
Littleton, 27, pitched in parts of three seasons with the Texas Rangers from 2006-08. He compiled a 5-3 record with three saves and a 3.69 ERA in 80 relief appearances.
During his rookie season in 2006, Littleton went 2-1 with a 1.73 ERA to rank 2nd in the AL in rookie ERA (Jonathan Papelbon, 0.92).
The right-hander spent last season in the Milwaukee Brewers organization, making 35 appearances with Nashville (AAA) and Huntsville (AA).
Before making it to the big leagues, Littleton pitched for the Spokane Indians in 2003. He was 6-0 with a 1.56 ERA in 12 games that year.
