YAKIMA - The Yakima Bears were shutout by the Spokane Indians 9-0 Saturday night at Yakima County Stadium, snapping a three-game winning streak for the Bears and a three-game skid for the Indians.

The Bears were outhit 13-5 and the Indians scored in five different innings. Ryan Rua led the way with a home run and three RBI. Gonzaga grad Royce Bolinger drove in two runs and extended his hitting streak to 19 games. Preston Beck also plated two runs for the Indians.

All of the hits for Yakima were singles and the defense struggled as well, committing three errors. The bright spots offensively were Kevin Medrano and Jacob House, who both went 2-for-4 in the losing effort.

The Bears had already earned the series win by taking the first two games against Spokane.

Spokane returns home Sunday to begin their final homestand of the season, with eight straight games beginning at 6:30 p.m. against Tri-Cities.
