BOISE -- Dustin Harrington went 5-for-5 as the Boise Hawks equaled a season-high in runs and hits in a 11-2 victory over the Spokane Indians on Wednesday night.
Harrington became the third Northwest League player this season with five hits - joining Tri-City's Carlos Martinez and Eugene's Chris Tremblay. The East Carolina product doubled in a run in the second, tripled and scored in the fourth, and had singles in the fifth, seventh, and eighth innings.
The Hawks notched their third 11-run game of the year - all against Spokane, while they equaled the 18 hits they amassed at Salem-Keizer on July 17.
It was more than enough for starter Cam Greathouse, who tossed six shutout innings to pick up his third win. Greathouse scattered just three hits and fanned five without a walk.
Boise jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second inning, as Cody Shields lined an RBI double, Jesus Morelli added a sacrifice fly, Harrington roped an RBI double, and Arismendy Alcantara lined an RBI single. Micah Gibbs made it 5-0 in the third with an RBI double, with another Alcantara RBI single pushing the margin to 6-0 in the fourth.
Alcantara finished the evening going 3-for-6 with three RBI - his third three RBI game this season against the Indians, while Pierre LePage went 3-for-5 with two doubles, taking over the NWL lead with 20 doubles.
Alejandro Selen went 2-for-3 in the loss for the Indians, hitting his second home run of the season in the eighth inning.
The rubber game of the series is Thursday night. Brent Ebinger will throw for the Hawks, while Randol Rojas will throw for Spokane.
